The film productions of J.K. Rowling's famous Harry Potter books have been critically acclaimed. Fans of the books have been thrilled to see the characters they have spent so many hours reading about come to life in the blockbuster films borrowing the same titles as the books. On November 19, 2010, fans will get to see the first part of the final story unfold; they will have to wait until July 15, 2011 for the second part to come to theaters and finish the epic tale. You can see the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie in either traditional 2D or in the amazing realism of 3D.
The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie focuses on Harry, Hermoine, and Ron's quest to learn how Lord Voldemort is able to keep his immortality. The stakes are high, however, since Voldemort and his evil henchmen are hunting for Harry Potter, trying to capture him and bring him to Voldemort. Harry's only hope is to locate the Horcruxes, which is what makes Voldemort invincible. The last part of this epic tale reaches its peak when Harry finds out about the legendary Deathly Hallows.
There were a variety of reasons why the studio took the difficult decision to make the last Harry Potter book into a two part film. The fact that the book is so long makes it hard to compress into just one normal length feature film. Also, because this story concludes a seven part epic tale, the characters all deserve to be developed and parted with in a full and detailed way.
Pre production workers for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie started on January 26, 2009. Filming at Leavesden Studios began on February 19, 2009. Hand held cameras were used throughout the production by David Yates, the director.
A few outdoor sets were used for filming, including London, Swinley Forest, and Freshwater West. On the last day of filming, June 12, 2010, many amongst the crew actually cried since it brought an end to the 10 year Harry Potter project.
